Sophomores are considering course selections for junior year.  Students were given a course list and will meet individually with their counselors from March 2-15 to go over their choices.  The parent-signed course request form is due in the Guidance office by Fri, March 26.  These course request forms determine which classes are actually offered; staffing begins in April so it is important to turn them in on time. Classes which are under enrolled will not be offered.  Langley administrators have stressed that careful consideration should be given to course selection as changes will be very unlikely given the budget cuts and their effect on class sizes and course offerings.  The AP contract is also due by March 26.

Please consider volunteering to be a table leader at the Senior Ethics Forum.  It will be Thu, April 15, 8 am-2 pm at the Gannett/USA Today headquarters in Tysons Corner.  Each table leader will be assigned a group of 8 senior students and their role as a table leader is to encourage and facilitate conversation while rotating through four modules.  There will be a training session on Tue, Apr 6, 7 pm in the school library.  They cannot use senior parent volunteers so they rely on non-senior parents to volunteer for this important annual event.  If you can volunteer, please contact Susan Mayman, smayman@verizon.net.

The Class of 2012 has set up a Facebook account so that class officers can communicate with and survey sophomores on pertinent issues. Please encourage your sophomore to check “Langley Class of 2012” on Facebook.
