Class of 2011
Come Sail Away, Prom 2010! Thank you to everyone who made this event possible – especially our class sponsor Jennifer Bonafide, who worked tirelessly to make Prom night memorable, along with student Prom committee members Lizzy Belair, Dani Lee, Lena Welch, Lan Carroll, Samantha Clark, Megan Howard, Caitlin Cox, Sarah Loh and Noosha Shambayati. We would also like to thank class parent Donna Doll and all parent volunteers who helped us Come Sail Away to the Prom!
The last principal’s coffee is Wed, May 26, 9:15 am in the choral room. The PTSA elections for next year’s officers will be held at this time.
The LHS carnival is Mon, June 7 during school hours for students only. This school spirit event was rescheduled from the fall.
Watch for a mailing from Prestige Portraits/Lifetouch with the date and time of your student’s senior yearbook picture appointment. Pictures will be taken in June.
Calling all night owls to come to school in the very early morning hours of Fri, June 18 to help with ANGP! The junior class is responsible for taking down decorations. Please sign up to help. Next year, we will rely on the help of the other classes to have a successful ANGP for our kids. We will start at 3:30 am and we need at least 25 volunteers. It's an easy job and will go fast if we have lots of helpers! Email Donna Hoffman, dhoff960@cox.net, to volunteer. You will get a glimpse of all the fun that awaits our future seniors!

Over the summer, your student should refine their college application list. They should look for colleges that fit them. By September when they begin meeting individually (no parents) with their counselors, the application process should have been started. Parents and students had the opportunity to meet with their counselors in April to talk about the college application process. Students should begin their resume and first drafts of application essays. Parents should begin to write a letter describing their son or daughter.
An AP workshop will be held at Langley on Aug 26. Watch for info and sign up for this event in June. This is a day-long event during which your student can meet his/her AP teacher and find out more about each class.
The first day of school is Tue, Sept 7. Please return any forms in the back-to-school packet right away and pay your class dues. Many senior events rely on these dues!
The Senior Class Dinner will be held in early September (date and time TBA). This is an important event to attend. The guidance department leads a presentation about the college application process which is very useful.
Back-to-School Night for senior parents is Thu Oct 7, 7 pm. Come meet your child’s teachers and get a feel for your student’s day.
