We hope everyone had a nice, relaxing spring break. One can always tell the end of the school year is near when the testing season looms. AP exams are the first two weeks of May. The schedule for review sessions was sent out last week in a class email and can also be found on the school website. SOL tests start on May 19.
There are a couple of things we need your help with. Each year the All Night Grad Party counts on the parents in the sophomore class to put up the decorations for this super party event. You won't believe it until you see it. This year's theme is “Dark (K)night Serious Fun”. The decorations are very simple and we're looking for teams of 3-4 people to work in 2-3 hour shifts to tape up decorations on Mon, June 15 anytime after 9:15 am when school is out for the day. We also need 2-3 people who have experience putting helium in balloons (or would be willing to learn) and can do it in the late afternoon or evening of Mon, June 15. Come with your friends and be part of this exciting event! Please contact Donna Doll, DonnaDDoll@cox,net, if you want to volunteer.
Also, we are collecting pictures for our class video to be shown at the 2011 senior breakfast attended by seniors and their families. The video will be a compilation of pictures and short videos from our kids’ four years at Langley. We would like every student from the class of 2011 to be in this video. We need your help! The success of this video depends on all of you! We have two more years to go, but please send any pictures you have from last year and this year right away! Please email any photos and/or short videos to LHSphotos2011@gmail.com. Any questions can be sent to Nancy Keefe at LHSphotos2011@gmail.com.
Here are some guidelines:
• Send us your best shot – 1 or 2 per event!
• Include the name of the event, the date and the names of the students.
• These pictures should only include students from the class of 2011.
• The pictures/videos must be taken at a Langley event only – either the event takes place at Langley or is an official Langley event taking place elsewhere. (I am also including other official events – i.e. a team picture from Great Falls basketball that includes only Langley kids from the class of 2011…)
• Videos should be no longer than 1 minute in length.
• These pictures will not be returned to you.
If your student is interested in applying for a parking pass for next year (juniors are not guaranteed a spot), see the parking information in the Announcements section.
Sophomore Class Parents
Our class is starting the planning process for next year's prom. The student prom committee is co-chaired by Lizzie Belair, Elianne Carroll and Megan Howard. They and other students on the committee will be working hard to plan a fun, memorable event.
