CLASS OF 2010
Prom 2009 is almost here under the great leadership of Michele Petersen, and there are many opportunities to volunteer. If you can chaperone, please contact Sheila Rieling, rieling@verizon.net. We are also looking for prom giveaways. Our aim is to attract and retain our guests by having drawings for special giveaways throughout the night. Group with another family to make it affordable. Give cash and we will pool it to purchase larger items. Ideas that the kids on the planning committee came up with were iPods, Wii systems, concert tickets, tickets to sporting events, gas cards, movie tickets, etc. Please contact Mollie Vardell, molliev@verizon.net, as soon as possible with donation ideas. Students should watch for Prom Court nomination ballots to choose candidates for Senior Prom King/Queen or Junior Prom Prince/Princess. Remember that a nominee must enjoy being involved in and being a part of the school, have school spirit, and be someone who will represent the student body at Langley. Any questions can be directed to Karin Brown, KarinBrown@cox.net.
We continue to collect photos from the Class of 2010 to be used in a photo show for next year's graduation festivities. We need photos of your student throughout their tenure at Langley. We want to represent lots of action and varied activities involved in the Langley experience! Photos must have been taken at Langley or Langley-sponsored events. Submit no more than 3 photos for each year. Photos should be emailed to Mollie Vardell, molliev@verizon.net. Label each photo with your child’s name and year, ie John Smith, freshman year. If you have questions, call Mollie, 571-220-8678. Your kids will be so disappointed if they don’t see themselves in this photo show!
We need volunteers for the ANGP for this year's junior class contribution, which is take-down and clean-up. Committees are being formed for next year’s ANGP. Please contact Lisa Walsh, lisawalsh@mindspring.com, if you'd like to volunteer for this year or to be on a committee next year.
Another successful Battle of the Bands was held thanks to student Wes Brandt and the tireless support of Class Sponsor Chris Rademacher. The Old Firehouse was "rockin" on April 18 and ears are still "ringin"!
If your student is interested in applying for a parking pass for next year, see the parking information in the Announcements section of the May 2009 newsletter or the PTSA homepage.
